It's September, and while the sun is still shining (mostly) there's a chill in the air. I've always loved this time of year - something to do with fresh starts, it reminds me always of as-yet-unblemished pads of paper and a newly bought and ordered pencil-case, free from ink leaks and crayon rubs. And with this particular shiny new September comes the launch of our shiny (literally, high gloss glazed) new fine bone china collection at London Design Fair.
On Saturday we were named in the Telegraph Magazine as one of the 'Best in Show' at London Design Week - we're so chuffed! Thank you so much to everyone involved, it means the world to us, we haven't stopped grinning (in between packing the van and unloading kilns...)

THE NEW COLLECTION
We've made fifteen new tableware 'objects for life' to launch at London Design Fair this week, from Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd. The new objects take our offering from breakfast through the day to supper, via some cake and fruit and flowers en route. Our ethos has always been 'objects for life' - handcrafted items you can use daily that will last a lifetime. This is why we use fine bone china - the strongest ceramic - and design objects that are classic and modern at the same time - not subscribing to any trends or fads. Our new tableware perfectly encapsulates this - these are items that are designed to be used daily that are meticulously hand crafted to ensure that (with a little TLC) they will last lifetime(s)!
FRUIT BOWLS & EGG CUPS
From a fruit bowl raised on a pedestal to take up minimal space on the table to a lidded egg cup to keep your egg warm, the new collection covers every culinary eventuality, perfectly. Three sizes of plate and three sizes of bowl ensure that every need is catered for (classic culinary puns abounding at the moment). All dimpled to sit happily in hand, each item is hand made in Devon from English fine bone china with hand-painted sketch-like banding in Cobalt or Gold to ensure each piece sits happily with our existing collection - timeless, minimal and elegant.
AN INTERVIEW
As a part of their series on 'A Life Well Lived', we spoke to Killik & Co about starting Feldspar - why we went from very stable jobs to starting our own business, and why, and are we mad. And also about what 'wealth' means to us - (happy, healthy and mostly outdoors)... they've managed to turn our ramblings into a great read, head over here to have a look!
#DIGYOUROWNCLAY
Also at London Design Fair, we'll have a display showing the progression of our own clay - from the raw clay straight out of the ground, to the refined ball clay, to the bisque fired mugs to the finished glazed wares. To see the entire process. We're calling it 'from mud to mug'.
We'll be at Stand 10.51, in Hall 10 at Old Truman Brewery - basically first right as you come up the stairs, you can't miss us - opposite the British Craft Pavilion!
SEE YOU THERE!
